I Found Heaven (16:05 PST)
I did find "Heaven." He's working on a new project
that looks very interesting:
http://www.knology.net/~heaven/rts.htm
It's awesome that he's working on an engine that ISN'T
yet another 3D shooter engine. This closed source 3D
RTS engine will, no doubt, serve Heaven well.

All Apologies (18:35 PST)
Game Spy had a "big move" recently, and since then we've had some difficulty
uploading our web page. But, as soon as I downloaded and installed the alternative
FTP program Game Spy Tech support recommended, our old FTP program started
working again, along with our page hits counter!?! This is actually a compliment to GameSpy, because working with us to fix a major problem like this is not easy, because our unofficial Galbraith Games battle cry is: "we're very busy full time students!"

H&S Docs (18:05 PST)
I fixed the H&S docs regarding a play
control issue. (Using run button and attack button simultaneously to
select heavy attack works fine, it does not automatically go into run mode,
which is the way it should be.)

Why didn't you tell me?? (8:45 PST)
Did you know almost all of the links on the main H&S Docs page were broken? I didn't. (No thanks to the "Gates of Hell.")
If you see any broken links anywhere on this site,
please let me know as soon as you find them. Anyways, I have fixed the
broken links I found.

Many Worlds (20:30 PST)
Did you know that there are actually 9+ Squawk worlds?
We only have sparse info on 5 of them on the Squawk
RPG Web page right now. (Looking at the HTML you can
see there was supposed to be a 6th, "Peleg." Hopefully
we will have info about Peleg and 2 or 3 others up
sooner than later :)

Increased Traffic (7:30 PST)
It looks like we got about 6,000 solid hits on this site in
the 1st month after we released the Hack and Slash
Action RPG computer game test. That is about 200 hits a day
average (compare that to our about 65 hits per day
average from before.) Total solid hits since 2001.10.10 10
AM as of 9:45 AM on 2002.04.08 was 15,459.

Crystal Space v. 0.94 (7:40 PST)
It's true, there is a new Crystal
Space release (version 0.94) out now. For those
of you who may not know, Crystal Space is a very
advanced cross-platform graphics engine. It was the
1st "open source" 3D graphics engine I know of to
become very popular. It is becomming more complete
all the time, and games are being developed with it
now. It is very modular and flexible.

Where is Heaven? (8:05 PST)
If you helped in the creation of the old Quake TC "The
Sword of Ares," or if your material was used in that
TC, and that material hasn't been put up as part of
The Free Models Project or Free Game Arts Textures,
please contact me if I haven't already contacted you.
(In it's early development, "The Sword of Ares" was
also called "CyberDawn.")
I am having a very hard time finding a guy who helped
with some of the chase cam code referred to in The
Sword of Ares documentation as: "Heaven" aka "Wrath"
of the Clan 7 Deadly Sins (and then to get ahold of
him there's this dead HTML address: )
http://panama.gulf.net/~heaven/ . If you are this
person or know what happened to this person, PLEASE
contact me ASAP.

Funny Story (8:10 PST)
Something funny happened this weekend. A "freindly ('net) surfer"
who's also a "The Sword of Ares" fan found the full version of The Sword
of Ares. This opens some interesting possiblities. Just one problem: we
have to figure out what the password is! As we say in the industry, "lol."

And the winner.. (9:00 PST)
Even with all open source projects considered,
MilkShape is still by far the best modeling program
around for your dollar. But besides MilkShape, the
most promising model editor in development I've seen
was actually called a "Milk Shape Clone." Well, "Milk
Shape Clone" is a horrible name for it because it's
not complete enough yet, it IS open source, and it's
doing some things a lot different (better) than Milk
Shape does. This project has an official name which
it goes by more often: Jenkara.
Here's the temporary
Jenkara site. At least check out this
screen shot. (We'll definitely be posting news
about this project in the future about site changes,
progress and further info). Also impressive is the
resume of Jenkara's author, C.J.Collier.

3D OS OS: Darkport VR (15:30 PST)
I've heard rumors about a "3D open source operating
system" or a "Quake based OS" for some time. I
recently stumbled upon a project called "Darkport VR"
(at http://darkportvr.realwarp.net/ ) that may be the
source of these rumors. It's not clear if they are
still working on the project, but the page is from 2001.
This kind of project could do alot to
bring open source operating systems into mainstream
use, if you ask me.

HP H&S Docs Update (17:40 PST)
Zancrus and I have been working on the Hack and Slash
Docs, further updating them according to The Serpent
Lord's "Future of Hack and Slash." There is now a Hit
Point section almost as extensive as the Size Level section.

March Review (10:30 PST)
Last month was the biggest month for Galbraith Games
in a very long time, because The Serpent Lord left us
temporarily on good terms, and because WE FINALLY
RELEASED THE STAND-ALONE HACK AND SLASH ACTION RPG
COMPUTER GAME TEST !!! In addition to these historic
events, we discovered the glory that is Zombie
Smashers X, Qbism had a new release and moved to
PlanetQuake, all of the worthwile websites posted news
about the Hack and Slash Action RPG test, QuakeForge
moved to www.quakeforge.net, and the 1st Game Tutorial
