Bestiary: Pachyderms

Heavily armored archosaurs in Squawk are called "pachyderms," unless they are predators like lindwyrms and dragons. This includes a wide variety of animals which are not closely related. Ceratopsians have massive horned and armored heads. Ankylosaurs, stegosaurs and their relatives have spikes, knobs and/or plates protecting various parts of their bodies. Even some sauropods and many other types of archosaurs can be called pachyderms because of their heavy natural armor
