We're done beta testing, and we mailed a copy of the beta to id. They'll look at it after they're done with Quake 2, so you can expect the first episode of The Sword of Ares to be available soon.
I created the dithered surface from large oriented sprites, and made the water transparent with the Waterhack utility. We can also make a map where the water is visible and a completely invisible version of the sprite for glQuakers.
Free Models Project
I have added the model I made for this month's Quake
Modeling Association low-poly modeling contest. There were some
great entries this month.
We have been working very hard at this and it is difficult for us to wrap it up now that we have out momentum going. The first mission will be bigger than planned since I can't talk Zancrus out of including about 15 of his mini-maps. The beta should be ready early next week.
Our sound guy had to move on to other things so the sounds won't be
great at first but we'll keep working on 'em. This is the big advantage
of continuously supported, internet distributed, shareware software.
If you don't like something about it, let us know and we can make changes
and post a patch or new version that can be available to everyone.
