We have some new Wanted Models. Thomas Hansen (aka Grim Reaper) of Total Kill inc. is looking for "some models of body parts, mainly the upper arm with a hand, to be used in a weapon holding position." He has also got some big collections of models made with qME at the Total Kill inc website including some modified models and some completely original models.
Armin Rigo has made an anouncement about his open-source Quake Army Knife editor - "Basic Quake 3 support should be ready soon. I will work on it during this week. I am also requiring help from anybody that would like to help in any of the following areas :

Crystal Space has a new "Concurrent Version System" (CVS). Instead of downloading the source code as zip files and patches, Crystal Space developers will now use a "CVS client" program to update their copy of the code. There is a list of several CVS client programs here. (I am using WinCVS.)
You can login to the Crystal Space CVS server anonymously to download the code. Connect to anonymous@207.225.208.168:/usr/cvs and login with password "anonymous", (but don't type the quotes.) Then "checkout" the crystal project (type "cvs co crystal" if you are using a command line CVS client.)
Also check out Crystal View - an artist's repository for Crystal Space.

I have redesigned the Free Models page - which now has some Free Textures too - and I've started a new texture collection: The Serpent Lord's Open Content Textures. This texture collection will have textures that are more general-purpose, educational, and suitable for games that use thousands or millions of colors. The first group of textures in this collection are meant to help you use natural looking "Perlin noise" effects in your textures.

Crystal Space beta 0.13 release 10 is out. This version of Crystal Space has a lot of simple bugs, so Thomas Hieber has made this patch that fixes most of the bugs. You may also want to check out his Crystal Shooter project - a completely GPL first-person shooter game.
The demo of the Dawn of Darkness commercial Quake 2 conversion is one of the best I've seen - better than a lot of competing stand-alone games actually. The hand-to-hand play control is a bit ackward - slashing and stabbing are acomplished by moving the mouse - which is controlling the direction you look at the same time.
(Unfortunately, play control mistakes like this are too common, even Super Smash Brothers has the grab button which performs a block instead if you press it at the wrong time. While context sensitive control is a great idea, it is terrible when it is unintuitive or interferes with other aspects of gameplay.)
